This photo-essay focuses on fathers learning how to care for their babies. The accompanying article argues that childcare should no longer be the sole occupation of mothers. 

 

Fathers at the Kingston-on-Thames Mothercraft Training Centre are shown learning how to weigh, feed and dress their babies. Wry captions accompany the photographs: ‘Father Achieves Mastery of Baby‘  ‘.. eighteen-months-old Anthony Michael brings in his father, Mr. Cornell.'

 

Sadly, many of these fathers would have left for war within a year.
